Jaworowski's French-written Akkad et Xai, published through Friesen Press, is a fiction novel that explores the journey between two interconnected characters, Akkad, a guardian angel and Xai, an old soul living in a much younger body. Their journey, and at times conflicting relationship, represents a larger narrative that highlights the real and serious issue of child suicide. This cautionary tale to parents, educators and health care workers, is as touching as it is entertaining. It highlights the crucial importance of being connected and listening to children. Danielle Jaworowski is a retired teacher and currently works in independent film. Now, for the first time, she has told a story using the written word. Published in 2014. It is written in French. Danielle Jaworowski est née à Drummondville, au Québec. En 1976, elle déménage au nord du Québec pour un emploi sur une ligne d’écoute pour le suicide (suicide hot line). En 1980, elle quitte le Québec pour l’Alberta où elle étudie à l’Université de Lethbridge en psychoéducation et devient enseignante. Durant sa carrière, Danielle a l’occasion de travailler dans des institutions très différentes, notamment avec des jeunes délinquants dans une école spécialisée. De plus, Danielle accepte des postes d’enseignante-suppléante au YWCA (Young Women’s Christian Association), et en milieu psychiatrique de l’hôpital local avec des adolescents qui ont tenté de se suicider. Un peu plus tard, Danielle enseigne en milieu autochtone, et c’est alors qu’elle visite le territoire du Nunavut où elle étudie l’environnement de cette région, ainsi que l’histoire des gens qui l’habitent. Plus tard, elle décroche un poste d’enseignement en-ligne pour la commission scolaire B.C. North Coast School Division, en Colombie Britannique. Après avoir animé plusieurs présentations et ateliers sur la protection des enfants, des animaux et de l’environnement, Danielle prend sa retraite. Aujourd’hui, elle s’intéresse à la photographie, et à la production de courts films.

Danielle Jaworowski was born in Drummondville, Quebec. In 1976, she moved to northern Quebec for a job on a suicide hotline. In 1980, she left Quebec for Alberta where she studied psychology and education at the University of Lethbridge and became a teacher. During her career, Danielle had the opportunity to work in very different institutions, in particular with young delinquents in a specialized school. In addition, she accepted positions as a substitute teacher at the YWCA (Young Women's Christian Association), and in the psychiatric care of the local hospital with teenagers who attempted suicide. Next, Danielle taught in an Aboriginal setting, and it was then that she visited the Nunavut territory where she studied the environment of the region, as well as the history of the people who live there. Later, she landed an online teaching position with the B.C. North Coast School Division in British Columbia. After leading several presentations and workshops about the protection of children, animals and the environment, Danielle retired. Today, she is interested in photography, and in the production of independent short films.
